Has anyone ever fished the pond down by the south side of the base? Is it even fishable?

I am looking for places close to work to swing a line around for a few minutes. I have been looking at the Weber down by Riverdale too. Any advice guys?

Are you talking about the pond on base or the one behind the christian academy (hobbs creek)? I've heard of thousands of little cats in the pond on base that are used to kids throwing bread in there. I know they stocked hobbs with cuts using the same rules as lost creek, but the last time we went there we didn't see a single fish. (That includes along the shore where you'd expect gills and youngins to be hanging out). Riverdale is ok..there is a lot of pollution in that part heading down, but up from there near 89/84 is always a good bet. Hope this helped.

You will have to check with the people in Outdoor Rec on base but the last I heard that pond on base was only for kids, 18 and under[:/]. The Riverdale part of the Weber can be good if the run off isn't too high.
