I was driving by Mantua today and stopped to check the ice conditions. First off I checked the ice during a hard downpour. It rained hard most of today in Mantua. The south shore is completely out unless you use waders and then it would still be a risk. The ice on the west side, the dike, I was able to walk on but it looked scary. There was one guy on the the hard deck is all and he had accessed the ice from the west side dike and then had to walk all the way over to the east side to get to his fishing hole. He didn't fall through so the ice must be thick enough. With all the rain today though it will be a wet mess this weekend I imagine.
