4 years !!! you've been fishing for walleyes for 4 years and haven't caught one yet ?
you must be fishing where walleyes are not, they're not that hard to catch, harder to find though. if you're fishing UL during the spawn fish the shallow rocky areas that are wind blown. around all of the marinas produce good eyes. just cast twister tail jigs with some chartruse color in it, either all green or half some other color. 1/8oz. lead heads and lighter will work just fine. I rig 2 jigs about 10in. apart and reel slow keeping your jig just off the bottom and hit the bottom a lot. snags will be a issue, but, if your not getting snags during the spawn your fishing in the wrong places or reeling too fast and maybe fishing a day after a storm. that's about it from me. good luck to you hope you get one this year.

Welcome to the site and I'd recommend nightcrawlers for eyes as well... Later J

Thanks Guys,
I may be using too much lead. I'm more dragging bottom than bouncing above it. I got use to deeper water in Idaho fishing curlie's for SMB.

Welcome to BFT! I too had tried for many years to catch that walleye. Went out with several people that knew what they were doing too. Then finally I got one using a different approach than what I had seen and done in the past. Maybe same thing here.

Probably location, seems like most eyes that I catch are when I'm after something else. I've found the walleye rig works for cats and about six other species at Willard so I set up for eyes and have fun catching what grabs it. And I usually end up with a few eyes in there. You'll get one just keep trying. Later J
