Has anyone been to Rockport? Ice?
Thinking about going there Saturday morning in the kayak. Do the perch spawn up on (what appears to be) the flat near the inlet about this time of year? Any kayakers, or tubers for that matter, that want to meet up Saturday let me know. I am open to all other locations as well--Rockport is just close.

Dunno when/where the perch spawn, but you are certain to get into trout in close to the banks this time of year, from the couple times I've done it. I remember catching almost 22" whitefish in early spring up there, too.

I know I am planning on going April 4th in my tube....probably fly fishing and using spinners. Out of curiosity what works there?

Good question? I have caught bows on jigs, powerbait, assorted metal and spinners there. I have fly fished both above and below the lake--not bad fishing either.
Someone out there must want to get their kayak wet this weekend?

I guess this means the ice has disappeared? I was up there like 3 weeks ago and there was about 15" of ice with a thin layer frozen around the edge where the water level had risen. I am planning to head up there Tuesday, has anyone been out yet on the open water?

I have no idea. Like you, I was looking for a report on current conditions.
I ended up going to Deer Creek, report to follow.

Add worm /marshmallow, and any kind of waxies, etc..... dark and white tube jigs and curlytails, too.
One of the main things I do for trout anywhere is a bubble, like you use for spinning flies. With a clear bubble you can hit the top water or fill it full and sink anything for a nice slow presentation. Nightcrawlers, big flies, tubes or curlies on hooks w/o weight. Small spinnersetc, then reel as fast or slow as you want.
