Rode up to Lost Creek and saw several boats out and people on the banks also. Fished for about 2 hours and didn't get a bite with worms or rapalas. I didn't bring my boat so I was fishing from the bank until the wind started picking up. I was wondering if anyone else did any good.
Also rode by Rockport but didn't fish. They had two docks in for the boaters.

My son and I hit Lost Creek yesterday morning and caught 4 from the bank. Three were caught on spinners and one a 3" tube jig. All were sent back for another day. The worm on the bottom or on a bobber 2' down did do a thing. All were caught before 10am after that nothing.

My dad and I finally got out on the maiden voyage of my 12' aluminum which has been affectionately dubbed the "Dolly Varden". Hit Lost Creek at about 8am and had pretty good success until the wind picked up around noon. Landed two 17 cutts that and three sub 15 inchers which we took home for the pan. All in all I would say it was a fairly good day for a couple of guys who had no clue what they were doing.
I guess I need to get a BFT sticker for the boat and truck to meet some fellow members.

I was up there friday evening in my boat. Fished for about three hours and got one small cutt and rainbow. I was trolling a rapala. The asphalt road going up there was horrible, I think the dirt road over the dam was better.

I'm happy to hear others were catching. I didn't get there to around 11 and the wind really started getting up around 12. I left around 1. Yep that paved road's potholes would surprise you if you weren't looking for them.

Has the DNR discontinued stocking Lost Creek with tiger trout? The last few times I have fished there I have not landed one tiger.

It looks like the DWR started stocking tigers in 2008.
20,054 - 2008
20,031 - 2009
24,165 - 2010
50,032 - 2011
And like dubob said 60,587 in 2012.
There has got to be some in there. Try working the edges with flies or lures. If you use bait it helps to keep it moving for tigers. They are a pretty aggressive fish so they like to chase things. Anything not moving doesn't seem to interest them very much.

My buddy and I hit Lost Creek today (Wed. 4-16) and it was pretty tough fishing. We were on my boat and went straight to a spot that has produced well for us in the past. The water was a bit stained from the run off, and got worse the further north we went, and better towards the dam. Water temp was 43, and the wind kicked up about 11 am. I caught 4 small cuts (15" or so) and my buddy got 5. No rainbows. All fish came off the same spot, and in a 30 minute time frame, then it was done.
As for tigers at LC, I've fished that lake pretty regularly in the spring and fall for the last several years, and have only ever caught one 18" tiger trout. I'm glad to see that they put a bunch more in in 2012, but the problem is that they're 3" long, and just end up feeding everything else. I'd sure like to see them put in 10,000 6"ers as opposed to 60,000 fry. Maybe more of them would live to be catchable size. Also, I thought that I had heard that the DNR was talking about putting splake in there too, like they did at East Canyon, but I never did hear whether that happened or not. Does anyone know? I've never caught splake or tiger trout at Lost Creek. I've only caught rainbows and cutthroats. I would agree that the size needs to be bigger in order for the tigers to survive.

There's a tigers in LC for sure.... I've seen pics of a few over 5 lbs, but they're few and far between. I'd love to see more in there ;0) Fred.

According to the DWR stocking report they put 5,155 splake in Lost Creek last year. They were 2.6" long so it will be awhile before they start showing up with any size to them.
