I was wondering if anyone hit Willard today? I'm thinking about taking out the toon later this afternoon. Where would you'll suggest launching and fishing?
Thanks

I haven't been out there this week but as others have stated, this is the best time ofthe year to catch fish near shore. There was a report a couple of days ago where Tin-Can stated that he fished out in the lake but the folks catching fish were just out of the South marina channel. Another member, fishinforthehog, was fishing in the South marina channel and caught 7 fishing from shore. The north end might be just as good but no one has said anthing about that end of the lake. Hope that helps.

My buddy drive up from slc and we went out late afternoon till dark. Launched our toons up and over the southwest corner. I possibly had one fish on for a few seconds. That was it!! We tried both flies and jigs. The water was very murky. I was sure disappointed with all the great recent reports. The channel was also dead. Every time my buddy decides to drive up, we get skunked.

Willard is a tough one but people catch a lot of wipers, walleye and cats there every year. This time of the year is hard but it comes down to timing and location or being in the right location at the right time. I know it is hard to do but when reports start, you almost have to be there the next day or it is too late. As the weather warms, it will get better and more consistent but that does not happen before May and June in most year. Hang in there and watch the reports.
