West Side of Utah Lake Help.
#1
I am heading down with some buddies to the west side of Utah Lake south of Saratoga Springs, and was wondering what would be good methods to entice some cats. It was a slow ice year and i have been itching for some biggies. Any advice on where, when, or how would be appreciated.

Thanks to the trash of the human type leaving trash of the trash type, the entire Knolls area is closed so I don't know where you can fish south of the Saratoga Springs marina.

Agreed. The lake shore is locked up for miles once you are a little south of Pelican BayMarina, sometimes hing I don't believe we should allow as Utah citizens. I'm alm for private property ownership, but since the lake is public, a public access of some sort needs to be ensured. Like a road just above high water mark where private land is not allowed to encroach any closer to the water.

The trash and guns and fireworks and boats and old cars dumped sure makes you sympathetic to the land owners, though.

I have considered taking enough gear to paddle all the way down there in my canoe and just setting up to camp over without leaving my boat. Probably a dumb idea, but it drives me crazy any time guys with boats can access a place, but guys without can't.

[#0000FF]As I have posted before, there are positive ongoing negotiations between DWR, Utah County and the several landowners involved in the closed area. It is still premature to speculate how or when it will all be resolved...if ever. But DWR has submitted a proposal that should satisfy the concerns of the landowners while still keeping the area open to the public...but on a more limited basis.

If anybody has a ton of money and wants to own a lot of worthless lakefront property you could buy that huge parcel owned by the LDS Church. Even they can't figure out why they have it. It has always been more of a bother and a liability than revenue producing agricultural land.
