Cutler was filled around the end of January. I fish cutler all the time and know it very well. Already this year it has produced some nice cats for me. I don't think the draw down affected the fishing at all.

i fish cutler by boat and bank. I have a 16 foot starcraft boat that i take out once or twice a week. By boat you can access areas that don't get fished much.

So which launch do you frequent? I'm usually out of the Benson marina in a blue pontoon battle wagon, or a Starfire Tri hull with a 115 Merc and a Yamaha kicker. If you're out that often, have you got a good bite going? I see some that seem to do well every trip, but I'm still on the slow side of things. Well say hey if ya see me. Later J

WD69 welcome to BFT. Some of the sites most prolific posters have already greeted ya. I went on a recon trip last Friday up and almost all the way around Cutler. Didn't take the boat (Tin-Can) this trip. Never been there before although have fished Hyrum many times. The marinas at Cutler Canyon and Benson looked to me to be pretty full, but was curious how deep they are right now. I only have a small 14' Lund with a 15 HP 4 stroke. Only draft about 1 ft. of hull in the water with the motor another foot our so below that when it's all the way down. But both places, and many of the stretches of river channel look to be deep enough. I am hoping to get back up there this weekend, maybe on Friday again. Take the boat this time and put in at Bensen and mainly just putter around that area to check depth and hopfully scare up a kitty or 2.

I like the ramp in Cache Junction mainly for conveniance(close to home). I usually head toward Benson Marina. There is good fishing in the canyon but i generally catch smaller fish. You have to know exactly were the channel is or you will be stuck in 2 inches of water. I learned my way around the hard way. Fishing was good but slowed down as soon as i entered the cat contest. here is a pic from an earlier trip with the kids.

One thing about the CJ launch is the sharp drop at the end. And if you launch there (TC) - head straight for the bridge first, don't head south until you're across. Gets real shallow.
At least most of the bottom is muddy, so if you do bottom out you churn chocolate instead of mucking up your prop.

WD69 - maybe you'd wanna join us for a floatilla, seems to be planning in the works. Skunked is our Captain - oh Captain!

Nice cats, hey I found the same thing for me on entering the contest... Entered two years ago and struggled to catch cats all summer... Last year didn't enter and hammered cats all summer with fair numbers of 27 and 28" fish... Entered again this year and so far only 22".... I think entering jinxes me... Maybe I need to pull my entry so I can catch some fish... Later J
