Went down to the Benson marina for a quick try. Launched at 7:00 did some searching but nothing till 8:30 and the open sign got turned on then it was non stop till I run out of bait at 10:00. Kittens chased the skunk out of the boat. Hey Yote can I enter these monsters? I haven't got my card yet. Ended up with 4 channels and 14 or 15 mudcats. I love May its so much better fishing. Later J

Hey at least you got into some! Better than carp!
I was over there last night for an hour...one 20" channel and one little mudder.

Crazy thing about this trip, I tried all the spots I thought the fish would be, then went right next to the marina bridge before I could get a fish to bite. So the Toon didn't do me much good other than having a seat. I had so many bites I couldn't hook it was crazy. That's usually little channels that do that to me. Wish I had more time to stay out fishing, but too many other demands I'm lucky to sneak out as much as I do. Sure fun when the fish bite. Need to find where the bigger fish are hanging and figure out how to get the fish to stay on the board while I take a picture. That's a problem on the toon one flip and they are gone. Maybe a sideboard would help. Hope you find a good spot to catch some. Is your missionary a fisherman ? Hope you can get some good memories in there before the send off. Well catch ya later J

I took a little Sat afternoon bounce, but not much to report. Alas, no channels this time out.
I did hook up a big fat two foot carp that got the pooch all kinds of excited. Bugger wrapped up both lines so bad - it was easier to snip it all and retie the whole mess.
She kept watching my bobbers and bells after that. Had some tinks so light they didn't even stir the bell, so - rod at hand, pulled in a handful of mudders. Peckery Pests!

He is a fisherman, but he doesn't love it as much as me. Plus he's so busy with other things right now, it's tough to get him out fishing for more memories.
Hopefully that will change now that he's graduating.

Thanks Curt, but it wasn't too impressive other than if you compare it to my other weak attempts this spring. What is impressive is your Willard trips. Glad you got some great numbers, you have paid enough dues in the tough times you deserved to hit the great day. Congrats and I hope you get some more of those. Later J
