Willard Saturday 5/3
#1
Willard Treated RAK and myself very well today. Fished from about 9:00am - 2:00pm. Had a slight breeze most of the day, just enough to keep the bugs away. Caught and released over 20 fish. Had 3 doubles and 1 triple. Plus lost a half dozen on long line releases. Most where wipers but it was close to a 50/50 split. Trolled 2.5 - 2.8 mph. Mainly used #5 shad raps. Water temp was 59 degrees.

I took a couple pics. One of a wiper that must of been planted recently, not very big but a good fighter hes learning at a young age. A few of the wipers caught where good size and had good bellies. The other pic is a 22" walleye. I caught other walleye that where shorter and fatter.

I thought that was you and Rak out there yesterday, I was telling Bearclaw and Reelfast, "look at this boat coming toward us", I wasn't sure if you saw us at first but then you turned your boat sideways, that's when I saw you. I got my binoculars out to make sure. In case you were not sure who I was, I waved at you. It was a great day yesterday, sounds like you got on the water right before we did.

I seen you wave. You where close to us but didn't wave until you got a little further away from us. I wasn't sure if that was you. I didn't think you would recognize me in my new boat. We where on a collision coarse, You where in my line of travel that I had staked out. I had plenty of time to go around you if I needed to.

Yea, I didn't recognize your boat but when i saw you and thought it was you, I had Bearclaw look with my binoculars to make sure, that was when I waved. When I first saw your boat, I figured, I had plenty of time to get by before you got there but the next time I looked you were right there before you turned. Did you know that it was me before I waved?

I thought it was you, but not 100% sure of it. Sorry if I got in your way.

I have a lipless crank EXACTLY like that. And I think it's the ONLY one I didn't try this weekend.

That's the way it seems to go at WB. Nice report.
