They didn't really look any bigger although color is a bit better on some of them at least.

How long ago since you've driven in? They did slightly improve the first 2/3rd of the way in before it snowed in 2012. Last couple of miles are still about the same. But at least I snapped off the down branches, moved 3 large boulders and shoveled a few drifts down from 3 ft to a foot so vehicles could get within 100 yds of Echo. On the way out it was the standard 20-25 minutes to Mirror Lake Highway in my Subie. That's down from the 30 minutes before they did the work in 2012.
The road past Echo and Pyramid was still impassable due to snow but it'll go quick.

Do you ever fish the upper lake? I like that lake alot better but always have to get my golden out of echo, cant wait to get back up there

More than 1 lake up there. Joan, Gem and D-26 plus several unnamed lakes. If you haven't explored passed Joan it's worth doing. Consider bringing a GPS as the topography can be mighty confusing the first time or 2. There's still a remnant population of Goldens up there as well just as was in Echo prior to it getting restocked last year.
