First time fishing on UL
#1
This is very similar to my post from yesterday looking for tips for Starvation but plans have changed and we're now going to UL. We will be launching from Saratoga Springs. Where should we try out? Just like before, were not looking for trophies just want to have some fun with the family. Thanks in advance.

Work along very close toshore this time of years, tossing chunks of carp or WB or chubs, shrimp, worms, chicken bits, etc right up toward the reeds or bulrushes in 3-4' of water either on a bobber or slip sinker rig.

Cast small spoons, plastics or spinners all around for white bass, esp where there are rocks, drop offs, deep spots. Panfish, just get in close to the vegetation and drop worms, maggots, and jigs tipped with worms under bobbers. You'll pick up smaller LMB this way, too.

I am no good at walleye. Just zig and zag shallow and deep, and look for changes in structure til you find a pattern. This time of year is usually awesome for me for panfish, cats and wb.

[#0000FF]There are lots of white bass inshore right now. Look for points, brush, rocks, etc. If you don't get action quickly, keep moving.

Ditto for catfish. They are in shallow (2-3') all around the lake. Use a bobber with a foot or two of line below.

If you have a boat with some power, hit Pelican Point first and then around to the Knolls. The Knolls is a great fishing area but has been off limits to the public for about 2 years. But you can easily access it from Saratoga Springs.
