They were on spawning beds last Friday.

They were in shallow on Thursday. I managed quite a few on a mosquito pattern before switching to a pan popper. Saturday with the wind and cold front, they had all disappeared. I'm hoping they're back later this week.

From reports I've heard, action at Mantua has been inconsistent at best. The gills, bass, and perch have not been as active in numbers as last year at this time. Fishing for planter trout has been fair. Not sure if the numbers have dropped off, or it if was a harder winter than normal or what.

Hit Mantua last night and took the 1st hour to find them. After that, it was on! Targeted warmer waters along the trees and caught over 40 gills before it got dark. Used small nymphs and surface flies.

This. We were cstching fish all over, but you have to move to find areas with bigger fish, or where they were accessible.

Went out for a bit today, seen one set of beds along the dyke near the beach. Only caught three 7-9 inches. Fished a few other spots around the lake with no success, it was in the middle of the day so im sure it was just a bad time, will have to try again later this weekend
