Fishing and Diving in Belize
#1
[font "verdana"][#000099][size 2]

This time of year seems to be a down time for us and its a good time to get away for a bit. My good friend and I along with our wives snuck away for a week and went down to Belize. It was a fishing and diving trip for the guys and a relaxing time for the girls. It was a heck of an adventure for all of us. We stayed 35 miles off the coast on an acre island. It was set up for us to go fishing and Scuba diving. We even speared Lion fish while we dove. Ill post the video of our hunt. It was a great way to spend a week on the Caribbean. Belize is a beautiful and humble country.

Nice! That is a great reef to fish/dive….looks like a great time. Belize is one of my favorite places, we have our timeshare on Ambergris Caye….lots of flats flyfishing for Bones' and Permit.

Great video. Are the lion fish tasty? Or at least good enough to pass up lobster?

Looks like a great trip. It seemed like you passed by the lobster and went for the lionfish. Now that would be nuts [:p]

Belize is on my list, though I may check off a few others first.

Not sure if tasty but they are an invasive species in Florida and the Bahamas and need to be eradicated.

Oh man, I teach an invasive species unit in my biology class that centers around lion fish and I am going to show the kids your video. Will probably spawn a few future marine biologists out of some wyoming rancher's and miner's kids!

Thanks for the nice comments. I would have loved to catch and eat some lobster. it just wasn't quite in season yet. Yes the lion fish were really tasty. We had them a few night while we were there. They were filet out and were a very nice white fish.
