Looks like a great time. We hit Shoshone this past Saturday and landed around 60 macs between five of us. Like you said small amounts of snow with really cold water.

Nice Belasko, I have yet to hike into Shoshone but I've always heard great reports!
I think anyone that is able should plan at least one early June trip on Yellowstone Lake, NEVER crowded!

Hike into Shoshone with the float tubes last weekend. Weather was horrible but the fishing more than made up for that. It was a blast and well worth the short hike. Mostly caught lakers but got into big beautiful browns too.

Howdy,
My relates and I were up at the big lake the week before; we too had great success. We have been going up there for 40+ years. Did you get the feeling this time that the cuts are possibly turning the corner? We caught many large cuts, but we caught some of various sizes which hadn't been happening in past years (only large cuts in the past). For us, the old Yellowstone special (Jakes) in the 3/4 oz size in silver worked for both cuts and Lakers. What worked for you?

We used the same jakes lures, large gold mostly. We also had great success with gold/maroon Cleos. And yes, the last two yrs we've caught some smaller cuts-great to see!
