I dont usually fish on saturdays and i forgot why til today. I didnt think strawberry could actually ever have too many boats on it, but today it did. Weather was awesome, water temp was around 68, perfect day for boating but not for fishing. Fished for 12 hours around renegade and the narrows, for the first time. I usually go to SC side. Went with 2 friends, fished everything we had, they caught 1 bow on PB, 2 small cutts trolling, and i got my first skunk at the berry. I blame the full moon. Shore anglers were catching some little bows on PB. Big chubs everywhere. Should have stuck to kokes. Saw 2 nice limits at the cleaning station and heard a few other boats caught some but no trout. I tried with dodgers and squid with bait from 25-30ft, line popped off the clip a few times but didnt hook any. Ill be back in september.

Thanks for your report.
I don't like going to Strawberry on Saturdays.
I have seen more boats this year than I have seen in past years.
this time of year.

Not sure what was going on yesterday. I was up at Mirror and Trial in the Uintas and I've never seen it so crazy with boats and crowds.
Fishing was likewise slow and small.
Maybe it was the "Super Moon" affecting both man and fish.

I usually work weekends and dont often experience that many people when i fish. Last time i was there was saturday in january. I thought that was crazy. I prefer the fall , midweek, when its cold. I might see 5 boats all day, the animals come out, and the fish are hungry.. Still had a great day and im glad we stuck around for the moon to rise.

I was at Strawberry on the 12th and the fishing was slow. I started on the SC side hoping to catch some Kokes but got nothing. I decided to try for trout and caught 3 Bow's and 1 Cutt by about 10:30 am. I headed through the narrows to Renegade and fished over near the old dike and generally in the Renegade Bay area. I was trolling and using dodgers trailing with a night crawler and landed 2 more Bow's and 5 Cutts. I agree that the rainy weather and full moon had something to do with the slow fishing. I did see other folks trolling and catch fish here and there but not a lot of fish. I plan to go again the middle of next week when I hope the weather is better and the moon will be no issue. It does seem that the fishing is slower this year however.
