Back road to Strawberry question
#1
I'm headed up there this weekend with my son's scout troop and I'm wondering if anyone has driven up there lately via highway 6/sheep creek/indian creek? I've heard they have smoothed it over, but I'm still worried about washboard because I'm taking my boat.

We will be launching from Renegade and it's been 10+ years since I've fished that area. Any tips on where to go from there? My son and I would really like to catch our first kokanee.

Used the road three weeks ago and the last 4 miles is still rough but if you put your outfit in four wheel drive and take it slow all will be well. It takes an hour from the hw 6 turn off. Fish were in 25 ft depth and were hitting white tubes tipped with cut bait or worms. any where in the meadows area

I used the road last Wednesday and it is in much better shape than last year. Believe me, you do not need four wheel drive for any part of it. Watch for cows on the road along with the occasional deer. There are a few spots that you have to slow down for the washboard but not bad.
Can't tell you about fishing renegade, we went to East Portal and did pretty well in 18' - 30' of water.
Good luck.[Smile]
