Yuba Pike on the Fly
#1
Hit yuba with the fly rod for the first time ever today and caught my first northerns. Fishing was a little slow with the warm water temps but that was expected. Chucked a big streamer and finished the day with two fish landed, one spit the hook, and multiple hits and follows. As you can tell from my Smiles is was quite the enjoyable outing.

[#484848]You are a nice looking guy. Keep it that way by never holding a pike that close to your face.[/#484848]

Wouldn't that make one crazy fishing story. Not sure how I would explain to people that I got mauled by a fish.

Good job man! I'm heading down there in the fall with my buddies for some pike. Did you use floating line or sinking?

[#484848]You really should consider entering that photo in some fishing photo contest or fly fishing magazine.[/#484848]

Sinking like with sinking leader. With the warm water the fish are down deeper.
