The family and I headed to DC this Saturday to see if we could scare up some rainbows, (the trout not the people). Anyway trolling was incredibly slow with pop gear and a worm so we decided to try the North end of the lake for some bait fishing action. Man I tell you what, I have never done so good at DC in my whole life, fishing was on fire with a crawler tipped with white power bait. We caught a total of 28 rainbows in about 5 hours of fishing, it was a blast.
We fished on the North end of the lake on the west side. The fish were in about 12 ft of water. All in all we had a great time, every one of the kids ranging from 3 years old to 8 years old caught multiple fish. There was not a time that we weren't getting bites or hooking fish, we even had a fish take a pole overboard! Without hesitation I jumped in after it and caught the rod and the fish, it was awesome.
