I am taking the family up to mirror lake highway on Saturday. I plan on driving from Kamas to Evanston and fishing along the way. Any advice on best lakes to hit?
I've got small children but some short hikes to lakes is certainly doable.
Thanks.

Can't go wrong with Trial Lake. I think just about anyone can catch a fish outta there!
Are you fly fishing or bait fishing?

During the summer months most lakes along the highway are planted on a fairly routine basis i.e.; Teapot, Lily, Lost, Moosehorn, Pass just to name a few and should fish pretty good. If your going to keep them use Powerbait, if not use a fly and bubble. If you use flies try smaller ones like: black gnat, renegade, timber ant, mosquito, adams etc.

My favorites are Teapot, Pass and Butterfly.
Salmon eggs under a bobber or a fly and bubble.

Be sure to have some Pistol Pete spinner/flies.
Run them about 6' behind a water bobber.
The propeller on the fly makes it irresistible to trout.
Get smallerPistol Petes for the Uinta Lakes.
All of the roadside lakes are stocked. They should all be worth trying.
