I'm thinking about taking my family out tomorrow and I'm wondering how the water levels are for launching. I'm thinking about launching from AF Boat Harbor. Also any advice for cat fishing would be much appreciated as I am a much better smallie fisherman[]

Buy a couple dozen (or more) worms. Fish those until you catch a carp. Cut the carp up into 1-2" strips and fish that for cats.

The worms will work too but everything else will pick at them (white bass, mudcats, bluegill, etc)

Make sure you don't have carp scales in the way of your hook. White bass meat will work just as good too if you can catch some white bass.

Show up at a spot (from 2-6 feet deep) and throw out as many rods as possible. If you don't catch a catfish in half an hour... move to another spot and try again.
