Hyrum??
#1
Dropped the oldest daughter off to school a couple of weeks ago up there and was thinking of showing up and taking her fishing. I was wondering if anyone has been fishing there recently and if conditions permit launching a bigger boat still? My expectations are pretty low, mostly just looking to wet a line. Any intel would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking at the web cam the other day and it looks pretty low, but the ramp was good last year at low water so I'm guessing you will be okay. Hyrum is a pretty good spot for catching bows, they just aren't the biggest fish. I'm thinking of hitting it again after Labor Day, its always fun to wet a line. Good luck and hopefully someone will give you a current update. Later J

The launch is shallow, so you might have to back in a bit to float, but the surface didn't seem too slippery. LOTS of boats out on a weekend afternoon.
Just wish MINE had fired! Still researching. (ok, done nothing really, but there's GOTTA be an easy fix, or expensive service due!)

Need to try for crawdads out there too, just for the nips of it.

I was up there tue, wed, and thur working out some kinks in my boat. Water is low but ramps are open and had no problem launching. Didn't fish but talked to several who were doing good for rainbows trolling perch colored rapalas. lots of small bass and bluegills were being taken around the boat slip area.

Made it to the reservoir this morning. Able to get the boat in but not by much. Trolled around by the dam. Picked up a couple of "perchlettes" right away on pop gear and a worm. Never caught a perch trolling before, took me off guard. Turned around and went back thru, more very little perch taken from 15-20ft down. Still had my big hooks on from strawberry but that didn't deter the little stinkers from grabbing at my worm. Made another pass and picked up a small rainbow. More passes, more perch nuggets. 5 yr old wanted to stop and use her spidey pole. Pulled over by the docks as directed and she dropped her line in and immediately hooked up with the only respectable perch of the day. Everyone caught tons of tiny perch, there's only so much of that you can take. Great morning on the water. The fish cop was issuing tickets like he had a quota to keep. Only harassed those that deserved it though and left us to our business. That's how it should be. Thanks for you're help!
