I took my uncle up to Jordanelle Monday for a day of smallmouth fishing. The lake was quiet, with only two or three boats on the water. It ended up being a breezy day, but very productive. We caught 85 smallies between 8 and 16 inches, and although the majority were about 10-12, they were thick and hard fighting. We kept a limit of the small ones for some fish tacos later, and to keep the population more in keeping with the food supply. We had success all day long in 15-25 feet of water, pretty much wherever we tried. Around the stick-ups was always good, but more snags of course. I am not posting any pictures because you all know what 8-16 inch smallies look like. The population seems healthy, although none of the bigger ones were landed (probably due to the spearfishermen spotted in the area.) [cool]
