Hit the berry at 7 am before the rain came in Friday night. With my son. No wind until 11am. We fly fished and had a great time using a black leech with a red tipped head. And three tiny sinkers on sinking line. We were in 65 ft and they were hanging at about 35-40 ft. Caught 20. All bow's but two. We would troll and stop and pick up again, and they would slam it. Everyone that came by us was catching fish. Some were trolling with jigs. Some were trolling with fly's. We left when the wind came up. Not sure if I will head back. Long way to go from Ogden. And about 60.00 in gas. plus 8.00 to launch the boat.[fishin] But a fun time

Thanks for posting your report, sounds like you and your son had a great trip. Amazing you caught mostly bows. Did you get any over 20"?

No all were under 20 inches. Some looked about the size of planters. But they were nice and fat. We released them all to get bigger. The nice thing about using a fly is that you don't do a lot of damage to the fish. Which I really like. Just leave them in the net and unhook them[fishin]

Tuesday, 4th day of a warm spell after the cold front.
The cold front tells them what is coming, the warm lets them do something about it.

I bet this weather and low temps will drop the water temp into the 50's. It was 61 when I was up there last Wednesday. I had very good fishing at Bryants Fork and the fish were up very high in the middle of the afternoon. I am dying to get back up there.

I found I get a lot of hits while rowing. Like you, it is that stop and go motion or in rowing that slight jerk.
I will give it a go this weekend.

I am also planning a trip up Saturday or Sunday. With elk opener this weekend the strawberry valley will be pretty busy between hunters and fishermen.

Me and Marv are going to be there Saturday and Sunday, we have a room at the Lodge. After spending a week in the trailer hunting deer, a room will be a nice change.

I guess my truck doesn't want to go fishing this weekend. It decided to spring a pinhole coolant leak out the head. Have fun up there. Probably won't get back up until the thaw.
