Deer creek bass??
#1
I finally got some days off this week and I'm planning on hitting jordenelle and thinking deer creek for my first trip with my boat on that lake. Can anyone tell me if and how the smallmouth bass are hitting this late in the year at deer creek? Any help would be great. I'm hoping to do some catch photo and release action. I love smallmouth bass fishing Thanks and good luck fishing and ice fishing soon

[#0000FF]The cold temps of the past couple of weeks have likely sent the shoreline cruisers looking for deeper water. I doubt you will find any in less than 20 to 30 feet of water.

I'm semi codgertatin' a trip on Tuesday and I will post a report on water temps and fishyology.

Most years DWR does a mega plant of "catchable" size rainbows in September. If that the case then it will be difficult to keep the Finless Freddies away from anything you are using for other fishies.

The flip side of that is there is usually some good perch fishing in less than 20 feet of water the first part of October. And wherever you can find perch you have a better chance of finding walleyes. Of course, a whole lot depends on water levels and water temps. At least the power squadron has thinned out a bit.
