Got out on Hyrum yesterday with my float tube. Started around 1:30 and fished until 5:00. The trout bite was slow but I did pick up 4 rainbows on my fly rod, took two home for dinner. I put the fly rod away and did some vertical jigging and picked up a lot of perch in the 5-7" range and one bass. It was a good day to be out and I did some GPS marking for the up coming ice season.
I started with a purple BH bugger on my fly rod, no luck. I changed to an olive BH bugger and caught one on my the first retrieve, casting towards shore and bringing it in with slow strips. The other bows were caught on a white BH bugger trolling parallel to the shore, i'm guessing I was in 15-20 FOW.
I was vertical jigging and caught perch off of slender spoons and small plastics.
