I have caught a few crappie in Utah, but never really targeted them. With all the recent reports, I decided to try my luck this morning (Sunday). I spent the early morning fishing for musky and after catching one, I switched to crappie. Same as most the other reports, there seems to be a lot of crappie with most being on the smaller side. Decided to take a limit home anyways. No perch or bass were caught.
No wind and most of the power squadron stayed home. A number of other fishing boats out there, most seemed to be catching crappie as well.

Sounds like a fun morning. Nice Tiger.
Though your Crappie don't look as silver as I'm accustomed to?! [crazy]
Mind if I ask, what depth and what were you using to target them with? How big did you come across?
I find once they get into double digits, they're a fair catch. Though a footlong sure has more fight and filet to it, than a teen-er.

Even though I have two of them, I rarely use a fish finder. I would guess I was in the 30-35 foot range and I got most of them on a jig (most of them where kastmaster style jigs, Swedish pimples etc.) right on the bottom. Given how low the water is, you have to go further from shore to get to that depth.
