Hey friends. It's been a long time since I posted. I've been busy with getting married, starting a new job, and moving...so basically changing my entire life around. Anyways I moved down to the Salt Lake area and since the move I've only been out fishing a few times, all on the middle provo below jordanell. I had a co-worker take me out there and it's all I've really done since moving to SLC area. It's not a bad fishery it is just super crowded. Is there anyone willing to PM me and give me some guidance on where I can go to get away from the crowds? I'm not asking for your secret fishing holes I'm just new to the area and would like some advice on where I can go fishing that is less populated. I'm willing to work and put in a hike if needs be, I actually prefer hiking into a spot. Maybe this is just wishful thinking and there is no way to get away from crowds in this part of the state, especially on the Provo. It doesn't have to be on the Provo, it could be on the weber, or anywhere not too far away. I'm just seeking for some friendly advice from anyone willing to share. Thanks friends.

Tell us what kind of fishing you'll be doing? Tossing a worm(bait), casting a lure, whipping a fly rod.
Shore Tangler, float tuber, boater...
This will provide a little info users will need to give you a few options.
Usually I'm on the water first light and off by 10-11 am to beat the crowd.

I fly fish 99% of the time, the other 1% is reserved for when I bust out a spin cast for bass of catfish. I love fishing streams, and I will get out and do float tubing too. Anything really. I really enjoyed the time I went on the Provo it is a really good looking stream. I just found it weird how crowded it was and the fact that people will sit and wait for you to be done fishing just to take the hole you were just at. Where I come from that would never happen. You just move on to the next spot where no one is fishing...Maybe if I can't beat them I should join them, but I was hoping I could beat them [:p]

Just so you know the Labor Day weekend marks the kids going back to school & cooler temps - which usually means the crowds are hooked to hunting channel or watching football, or ..... back to work schedule..
So Now is the time to hit the water...
passing on a little info - find a Damn and check out the stream below it - Jordenelle, Deer Creek, Current Creek Strawberry, Starvation, Rockport, etc. these will usually be better in the spring with higher run-off but you can find the nice holes during these the low water time of year.
