Myself and the off base commander (girlfriend) are headed up to Bear lake this evening for some shore fishing. My question is, where is a good spot to fish and what bait is recommend.

Hopefully Mike or Scott will give you some up to date details on this, but as a general rule look at off the state park marina dikes north of Garden City or on the East side of the lake try off of Cisco Beach... Mike was saying if the waves are calm you can see the fish cruising in pods just off shore... Find them and cast to them... He was recommending flies drug past their noses, but spoons or jigs could cause an anger strike as well.... He talked like it might be fishing after dark was best, but I haven't made it over there to try it yet.... Most of the reports are not showing high numbers but fair size fish being caught... Of coarse you know the ones that are catching real fish aren't saying anything until after the run is over.... Good luck!!! J
