Scofield in the WIND
#1
Tough fishing day in the wind on Scofield. The fish total was easily the lowest for my boat this year with just 8 fish between two of us fishing from 8am to noon.

However, 4 of those were in the 20" class and I did get my largest Cutt of the year so far.... this 25" fatty.

Do you mind saying what you were using? We're you trolling, bait fishing, tubes jigs......

Great looking fish by the way. What did it weigh?

About the only thing we could effectively do in the wind was drift and cast. We used a number of things but this one was caught on a white swim bait.

I didn't weigh the fish.

Thanks for posting your report and pic. Good looking cutty. From the pic it looks like your boat is the same boat I had, mine was a 78 Starcraft.

That is one sweet fish, you sure have the knack for finding the big ones up there. I commend you for being brave enough to go out with what they where forecasting for wind

I haven't caught any Rainbows at Scofield since 2012. They aren't being planted due to the chub "problem".

Yeah right... problem...

Since the chub "problem" asserted itself big time in 2012, the State Tiger Trout record has been broken several times.

And my top 10 personal biggest trout are all in that period from Scofield including these yearly bests:

2012: 30" Tiger:

2013: 27" Cutt

2014: (so far) 25" Cutt
