Has anyone been up to rockport lately? Whats going on with the ice conditions according to UDWR? They say there is a couple of inches. I'm wondering what "a couple of inches" is to them.

Well I don't know where they are getting there information. I drove by today maybe 35 feet of ice at the inlet. Did a drive by on echo too. Echo has about 50 feet of ice. It was 48 degrees at 3 pm today when I drove by. I know this isn't what you want to hear but just thought I'd share.

The reort says open water and you can still launch. A few inches of ice on the south end so the report sounds just like what has been seen. Doesn't sound like a junk report to me.

Yeah I guess youre right. Not a junk report. I just read about punching some holes. To me that sounds like there is fishable ice.
From the DWR report:
Fishing continues to be really good. The ramp is open and the courtesy wedge is still on the ramp. The lake is starting to freeze over. Most of the south end has several inches of ice, so if you're ready to punch a hold and try ice fishing, you could start there.
I guess I read it wrong.
