I ended up going last week. I caught three fish. Two were natives. The one keeper was a 29" fish. I fished for probably 5 hours. All in all it was a good day steelheadin.

awesome, are they pretty nasty looking? I don't really know how the fall run works, if they turn nasty after being out of the big pond too long... I love those pure silver spring steelie's....

Matt the fish you catch in the salmon river systems right now are the same ones that you catch in the winter and early spring. They swim up now and hold over till spring when they spawn. So right now, they are in good shape. Heck most of the hens you catch this time of year will be chrome still.

Maybe you can help me out Chrome Junky... So I've always fished right after deadwater blows, but I've got the itch to go bad!! So my question is do I focus on slow deep holes or do I fish for them like I normally would like tail out and small runs? Do the still stack in at some of the more popular places past shoup?
