We will be closing the Pelican Lake online survey on Wednesday afternoon. If you haven't completed it yet, and you like to fish at Pelican, please take the survey and share your comments. Here's the link:

Thanks for taking the survey, zman2. We certainly haven't ignored the previous threads about Pelican Lake. This was just a quick reminder to let people know about the survey in case they missed one of the earlier discussions. We will post the results of the survey as soon as our regional personnel have had a chance to review them.

Sad to hear but I'm still going to make my annual ice fishing trip in Jan.

Could the same carp harvesting methods being deployed at Utah Lake be used at Pelican? With the lake being so small I would think it would be a viable option. The thought of chemically treating the entire lake is difficult to hear, but understand it may be necessary. And no need for additional species. That lake is perfect for bluegill and largemouth. Keep a two species lake, that's it. That lake is one of my favorite places to fish from late May to the end of June.

If retenone was used at Pelican would the DWR re-stock with fish from other lakes or start with fry? I would think fish from Utah Lake, Lake Powell, Sand Hollow, Quail, and others could serve as brood stock. Mix up the gene pool a little.

I vote no to catfish and bullhead in Pelican. If there is an official DWR Future of Pelican meeting I would like to attend. I fish there too much for there not to be a Pelican. I absolutely love that place.
