Just a heads up, places that have been fished quite a bit have turned into giant slush bogs at Henry's. When we left today it was 40 degrees and rising. There was 18" of new snow yesterday and there is overflow occurring in the Hatchery area. I wish I would have taken my irrigating boots! Hopefully there will be some cold temps to freeze everything up again.

Fishing was good both yesterday and today for us. Where we were at the hatchery yesterday the wind wasn't that bad at all just snowing heavily.

We are camping on the north side right now. No wind lots of slush. 6" ice. We only got in an hour and a half before dark. Caught 25 between two of us. Mostly 16-18" Cutts two brookies one of them was male in full spawn colors. A couple small hybrids. We will fish until 10 am then home for thanksgiving dinner. Happy thanksgiving to everyone.

What pound test line do you use at Henry's ? I was talking with Damon monday and he said you were one of the best ice fisherman he knows . He also said you caught the biggest fish this year he has checked .

That's nice of him to say. I'm using 6lb p-line on most of my rods. We are using very small jigs with meal worm on jackers. As always I jig white paddle bugs it didn't matter if it was meal worms or nightcrawler. This morning we had rods in at 6:30 it was hot until 8:30 then it was over.

Fished at the state park this AM. Iced 15 or so. All standard henrys cutties but one nice female brook. Ice was solid 8-10 but the sluch layer on top sucked as it was constantly filling the holes up. Water clarity was as bad as I have ever seen it. Slush around the holes was turning brown the water was that dirty. As always for us a black marabou jig caught the most fish, 2nd was a glow in the dark shrimp jig with half a meal worm on a jaw jacker. The bite was pretty light. Head towards the north end tomorrow or sat to see if the clarity improves.

The water is clear at the Hatchery. I think the north half of the lake is clear . Goose Bay is real murky .

I had friends fishing the Hatchery Saturday and Sunday and they did very well . I fished with them on Monday and it was slow . The wind blew hard all morning keeping our holes full of snow . Talked to Damon on the way out , he said they were doing well at county boat dock also .

Have done very well at County, best large Brookie action I have ever had over the past three days. Slush was less of a problem today. Had to actively fish and pay attention to the smallest of hits. Some brookies would really slam hard with good jigging! Ice is a solid 6 plus.
