Henry's update anyone?
#1
I'm heading over in about a week for our annual trip. We will be staying at the Wild Rose. I have an ATV (Suzuki Eiger 400 4x4) with decent to good tires but no chains or tracks. How is the ice hold up at this point? Will I be able to access the lake with an ATV at the WR? Is there any hope an ATV will be useful in 7-10 days? I can move around from the WR if necessary, but I'd just as soon access the lake there if it is not too difficult.

Perhaps I'll see you there? I've been wanting to meet you for a while. My nephew, FearNoFish will be there also. He says great things about you.

I've been fishing in the Goose Bay arm the last 3 years due to the cabin we were renting being on that arm. Fishing was good, but I didn't think it was any better than the main body of the lake. Especially for Brookies. You like Goose Bay because there is slightly less wind? Or is there another reason? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to share openly.

My family has a cabin by there is the main reason. Also I can be fishing in several depths a lot easier. Last year maybe 1-2 brookies. 2 so far out of 15 this year but a couple of years ago it was half and half until the end of Dec. One of the brooks had a 4" fish in it and two Green grubs that looked like just like mealworms but soft and the same length but a little fatter.

Do you know where the Idaho Supreme Cabin is . It is on the Goose Bay Island side . It is owned by a family named Chapman I think . Just trying to figure out where your cabin is from theres .

Vondell Chapman. I called for permission to park on his land to fish Goose Bay like we have the last 4 years and he said they are shutting it down due to litter and other issues. Dirty shame. I really liked the outlet on that side.

If the snow is not to deep , Friday I am going to try and drive in on the other side of the bay and about a 1/3 of a mile to the south toward the dam .

Is that the Large tan one with a roll up garage door for a boat in the basement? We are on the south shore east of the cliffs. May be snowmobile in only if it snows more. Much easier to move around with a snowmobile and haul gear. How late do you stay usually?

Damon rode his snow machine out to where I was fishing last week. I use my four wheeler over Christmas out there, but I am not feeling to trusting in putting my six thousand dollar wheeler on this lake with as slushy as it has been. Seven inches of ice ought to hold it though, I just like to err on the safe side. On the negative side of it, thought I was going to have a heart attack having to drag all my gear out a quarter of a mile through the snow and slush then back up the hill to the fish and game parking lot. Time to lose a few pounds I think.
