Welcome to the forum . H&H it is a city pond in Idaho Falls . I doubt there is any ice . It has been in 40 the last week . You can catch fish with nightcrawlers and marshmallows , or power bait .

As of today it's still ice free. Traditionally once it freezes I do well with a small jig or paddle bug with half a mealworm.

I haven't fished it for almost a year now since I refuse to fish with many of the people I've ran into there during open water time. I got too disgusted with snagging and other issues with people ignoring the basic rules of fair fishing not to mention littering. So as of last January I was using a small kastmaster to help get the line down to the bottom, then about 8-12" below that was either a small jig, or ice fly (usually a ratfinky or other similar thing) or a paddle bug. I would set them just above the bottom. I'll try and take a picture of the setup later to help. Of course I also have the aid of a flasher so if something comes by higher in the column I would adjust.

Near the I-15 Sunnyside exit.

I had some decent luck with Jakes this fall. I prefer fishing the Shelley pond, but Ryder is fun to go catch and release a couple when I can't seem to catch anywhere else, and it is close when I visit IF since my parents live just down the road.
