After thinking long and hard about it, I left the ol' Carolina Skiff at home, loaded up the toon, and headed for Strawberry. Weather...perfect. Fishing...pretty dang good. In other words, a run-of-the-mill day at the berry -- except that it is Mid-December!
As for the fish, all were caught on white plastic. I had more success bottom bouncing along near-shore drops than any other presentation. I had little success with upper water column retrieves.

Most of our fish where caught staying in contact with the bottom. Couldn't see them on the fish finder most of the time.

Planning on going up on Fri. with the boat.
Did you notice if the ramp was clear or is it snow or ice packed?
Thanks

The ramp is completely clear. BTW -- the forecast for Friday looks pretty windy.

Nice looking fish. I like the jig head on that plastic. I will have to give that a try.
Hope the wind is not too bad tomorrow. We are going to head up there with our toon boats.

A good drift with the wind and quite often we do real well summer or fall.
Good luck.
