Do we have a more recent update. I am going to slide into deep depression if something closer to home does not freeze up....

You should be fine as far as getting there with a pickup, just drive safe.. And as for ice I can't say for sure, but it has deffinatly been cold enough the past week to form ice. But can't say if its good ice or not..

Was on the lake Friday (12/26). Couldn't get out on the ice on the upper end of the lake as it was too soft. Went out from the old boat ramp and there was 10 inches of ice there. Slow fishing, kept only 1 and let several smaller ones go.

Not a lot of people there and I saw only one other decent size fish caught.

Gravel road in is clear of snow. I could have driving my car instead of my burb. Sure didn't snow there like it did in town.

Have to say I didn't even know there was an old boat ramp until I walked down it. From the current boat ramp, you go about 1/3 the distance towards the dam and that is where the old one is.

Most of the people I saw were going out on the ice from the current boat ramp and seemed to have no problems there.

Was there yesterday. Soft around the edges (normal with some snow), but it's plenty thick anywhere you want to fish.

Fishing was fun for those planters. We did catch a few bigger then the planters, but for sure not many.

Two of us fished Chesterfield today. Caught over 20 fish but honestly nothing over 12". The ice is good, 9-10".
