Tibble fork ice?

I'm just curious if anyone knows if there's ice at tibble fork reservoir and if so how thick is it?

I haven't been up there in months, so I couldn't tell you. Are the roads in AF canyon maintained well enough to access Tibble in the winter? I do have 4WD... I'm curious to see what conditions there are like as well.

Yes they do maintain it all winter long up to the parking lot but they do close the gate to silver lake flat and sundance.

very little ice and very little snow as of a week ago. Probably have a bit of snow now since last couple of days

Went yesterday. No ice, completely open haha but I did catch a lot of dinky bows and browns and one good 18 inch brown

Thanks for the info. Ya once in a blue moon a nice size fish will come out. In 2013 ice off season I caught a 19" bow on a fly rod. There's a few big ones in that lake but not as hungry as the dinkers.

I remember that report. I think you posted a pic of that nice rainbow. I've seen some nice fish come out of there. I've seen a nice brown or three lurking the shallow water from time to time. Seems like some of the bigger rainbows hang out in the deeper water. At least the float tubers I have seen catch bigger bows always seem to pull them out of the deeper water out in the middle.

I've never seen after 8 years going up there anyone catching as big as the bow that I had. That big bow was actually close to the bank area while float tubing. Even during ice season I haven't landed anything bigger then 15"

Definitely a nice fish for sure man. That's a fun place to fish and a pretty location.
