Strawberry?
#1
Has anyone been out to Strawberry since the weekend? Is it starting to ice up at all or will it be open water for the next week or so? Any help would be appreciated, I'm trying to plan a trip either Saturday or Monday for my Dad and I.

I would like to know if Mud Creek has any ice on it also. I can't wait to get on the hard deck.

Last Wednesday there was ice in the shallows of the back of coves that didn't melt despite the glorious weather at that time. My depth finder indicated water temps in renegade were 33-34f at the surface. That body was ready to freeze before this colder weather pattern arrived.

When do you think the berry will have it's first safe ice?

Thanks for the info Charina! I hope you knocked 'em dead last week.

I had my pontoon boat on Jake's Bay (Chicken Creek East) two days ago. Some skim ice in the morning that was gone in the afternoon. Measured 40 degree water temp. Didn't see solid ice any where on the north end. Oh yeah - fishing was pretty decent too! Wink

Never. There is no such thing. And I'm not one to prognosticate when there will be ice that can support a person either.

Here are the recent temps at Daniel's Summit.

Eh, only knocked one dead. Let all the others go. It took a while for me to find them (seemed to be highly concentrated), but once I did, it was game on for I and my 8 yo.
