So it is almost time for the Cisco run, and I had a ton of fun last year. We got there just a little late and had to catch them 3-5 at a time, but it was a blast for my first attempt.
Does anyone know a place that sells a good net with a long reach for the cisco? I found several that sold them with the opening to large, and several others that the reach was only 3-4 feet, but finding a good long handle with a good net of the proper opening size was difficult.

Sportsmans warehouse usually has some dip nets also the gas station up in garden city at the stop sign or you can give Darren a call at pugstones in garden city he catty them also

You could do a search on Amazon, Ebay, or your site of choice, and look for a swimming pool leaf rake. there are a variety of telescoping pole options at around 12 feet, and bag nets that might work well. In the interest of full disclosure, I admit that I have no experience dip netting any fish, so I can't say this would be a successful experiment. They look like a good possibility at around $30 bucks for both pole and net depending on your preference.

Give Smith and Edwards a shot, or Anglers Den. Both usually carry them. Fish Tech in SLC will also have them.

We don't have them at Smith and Edwards right now but we will have them around the first of January.

Bob-
When selecting a cisco net, be very careful with length. The "drag weight" of a long handle can make it near impossible to scoop fish, and 9/10 you will get a bend in your handle.
I do not know if anyone else is offering them, but the best cisco nets have an aluminum octagon handle, they are the strongest handle you can get, and will not bend and last you for years. Pugstones has them in Garden City, as well as the cheap nets....

Yeah last year we scoured several retailers and settled on a net tjsy had to be modified from 19.5 down 18/inch round. It worked well except we broke 2 of them.
