Anybody been to Scofield last day or 2?
#1
[cool]Anybody been to Scofield in the last day or two? I think I'm going to hit it tomorrow morning in my usual spot for the first time this year. Hoping for cuts and tigers and no chubs... Really excited to get on the hard deck finally...

It's been a couple decades since I've fished Scofield. Post some pics if you would!

Enjoy the festival of dinkers unless if the ice is safe to adventure to the middle of the lake.

[cool]Will do, Derek, if I catch anything. I haven't ice fished it in about 6 yrs. That said, I've never been skunked ice fishing there, knock on wood...

[cool]Well, I haven't fished it in five or six years, and I understand the lake has changed quite a bit, for example, not more stalking 'bows, when, back then, that is all we caught with the occasional cut. Their bellies would be full of crawdads too. I've heard that the chubs are really getting out of control right now and that there are mostly cuts and tigers in there now.

You don't have to be in the middle of that lake to catch big ones. I've caught big ones right where I'm going tomorrow. I would say where, but with how popular this site has become the past five years, I'd have at least 10 other people/groups showing up right there and crowding me out a bit.

That said, good luck to all who are going ice fishing tomorrow and be safe!! With the current post Christmas forecast, another week to two weeks and almost every favorite ice fishing location in Northern Utah will have a hard deck, even utah Lake...

Ya I was thinking of going somewhere today but had to send my fish finder to the repair shop so I'm going to be head out somewhere on Friday possibly. Maybe we can tag alone someday.

I sure hope that rockport will freeze up soon because I sure do miss ice fishing that lake.

i fished it tonight (December 19th) and it was HOTTT!!!! still quite a few fish in the 8-14 inch range but also quite a few in the 15-18 range and boy were they fat!!!! also about 5-10 chubs so that was a huge improvement. fished from 7pm-2am ice was 8-10 inches thick. so far the best trip i have had on the lake this year. hope you get on them!!! chub meat was the most productive tonight. hope this helps you.....

We have been hitting up scofield till other lakes get their hard decks. The lake is super low. Tipping with chubb meat definitely gets more response from the cutts.
