False those ksl people are just down right stupid.[crazy]
It's like saying let me hit this 18" cutthroat trout in the head because now it's in stress just to have it entered in the contest.
If the cutthroat trout is in the slot limit it has to go back down the hole.

The moderators at KSL.com need to get a sense of humor. My comment was dropped. The first part of it was a joke about not being able to cast into that little hole and prop damage on the boat, but the second part was serious. One of the job requirements must be the surgical removal of the sense of humor as a child. That, or my jokes aren't that funny but we know that's not possible.

A reporter's sense of humor is removed in Journalism School, and replaced with an equal volume of cynical liberalism. In place of any intelligence, they cram in as much smugness as will fit.

I'm not as familiar with the KSL writers for their website, but aren't the vast majority of the radio people pretty conservative?

Radio people are not reporters; they're entertainers. The ones that you and I might listen to are certainly conservative, but they are a distinct minority among all radio entertainers.

The young lady who wrote that article has had many hunting and fishing related articles on that website lately, that highlights hunting and fishing. While not perfect, at least she tries to keep hunting and fishing relevant. We are attacked by the anti-everything crowd on every front and we should be thankful for an ally in the media. How about looking at the good she has done instead of picking on one screw up?[mad]
Your post is kinda arrogant and condescending. But I guess your opinion is the only one that counts?

Well in my opinion she better read the guide books before posting any information because these minor mistakes can create a disaster some day.

The tournaments/contests have nothing to do with KSL. They are all State Parks sponsored and the article is simply promoting them. Anyone with 2 oz of gray matter in their head should know the news never gets anything 100% correct, 50% might stretch it some days.
As far as the regulations go the only one that might apply is that any trout put in a bucket/stringer is considered in possesion and could not be released if a larger trout were caught. It would be legal to put a bluegill, bass, perch, or walleye in a bucket of water (live well) and release later it so long as it had a reasonable chance of survival. If the fish were released when overly stressed and would likely die it would be considered wasted and you could be subject to a ticketed and in the case of the tournament, forefiet your chance to qualify. All these tournaments typically specify that all state fishing regulations are in force.
Your beef is with the State Parks contest rules not with KSL. She might not have gotten it right but it's your responsibility to know the rules at the respective park before you sign up.

So how should the article have been written to make better sense?
I suppose quoting the regs would have been better, or at least a link to the page where the regs on possession is written.
I agree with the article that if you stress a trout, you can't release it.
So what is the definition of stressing a trout?

we are all now waiting to see your Pulitzer prize winning article published, since the person who wrote this article is obviously not up to the same level of professionalism that you are in the articles you publish on a weekly basis.

Ha,, funny. Not my wing, but you might be referring to a Rush?
Understand he lost some function of his vision? Too bad it wasn't his lower louder "organ" that went south.
Nothing to do with fishing, but radio "entertainment"
