Utah Lake State Park ice report
#1
Checked out the Utah Lake State Park today. There is at most 1/2" of ice, and I found zero fish in about 1 hour of fishing. One guy launched a boat and broke his way out of the marina.

Thanks for the report - I'm keeping my eye on the ice there as well.

I was going to start another thread on this, but I think it's appropriate to ask here: how is the ice around AF Boat Harbor?

Last night the Pelican Bay Harbor only had a sliver of ice along some edges. Looking over the lake today, it appears to be froze over most of the lake, so all the harbors are likely frozen to some degree. I plan on checking out the PB harbor later this afternoon.[reply][/reply]

Curious how you figure they are ruining your ice fishing?

Boat going out doesn't ruin the ice.. When the ice is 1/2" thick a path made by a boat will refreeze over night no problem like it didn't even happen[:p]

It might be a few more days before you can walk on it. Well if you don't weigh much you can go out on 2 inches and roll the dice. I would bet the harbors are good enough since you can just walk out on a dock and fish around it. The lack of wind and cold temps are locking up Utah lake quick. Looks like glass from my back porch.

The state park today said it is completely capped. Has anybody ventured out since the 28th?
