Took my Pops and daughter ice fishing to Panguitch Lake today.
We had a great time but could only fish for about 3 hours.
Everyone caught fish which is always a good thing.
I had one pole rigged up in a Mr. Jigger and a fish hit so fast and hard all I could do is watch my favorite pole and reel disappear down the hole [frown]
The ice was plenty thick (4-6") but was cracking and popping to make things interesting. There is open water in the middle of the lake so we stayrd closer to the shore.
Once again, had a great time out for the first trip of the season!

Hey frozen, I was in the group you fished by. I hope your dad is ok after that fall? It diddnt look like it was an easy one. We also ended shortly after you. And kept 6 rainbows to take home. I am super impressed with the quality of fish panguitch has right now. Every fish we caught was fat as can be and fought like a champ! I hope to make it round 2 there shortly.

Wish it wasn't at least 4 hours one way from Bountiful.

I was down there near you guys as well. We were the group that was there at first light with the two red tents, right next to both of you. I was a bit worried when we saw the fall. He didn't move for a bit and that was scary.
The fishing was pretty good for us too. I had the jawjacker rigged up and those bows tried to pull it in a couple of times. They weren't shy about the tubes either. We could see them down the hole hammering the jigs. They are healthy fish for sure.

I really like mine. I get excited when I hear the rod pop. It is great for the smaller jigs and more aggresive takes. When the fish are just poking at the jig, it can be tough. There was no problem on that lake. Those fish were pounding the jig pretty good. I only missed one.
I have never had a rod come out of the jacker. The way it is designed keeps everything in place pretty well. I use a stiffer rod in it so it gets a stronger pop and sets the hook better. Right in the top lip almost every time.
I still jig tubes with my other rod. I mostly use the jacker as a second rod with a smaller jig on it.
