thinking about headed down there next week if fish lake is not fishable yet. Is ice fishing good here? haven't done any research on it yet. would out be worth still going down to fish that.

There is only 3 inches of ice there. It's not safe enough for me. I like at least 6 inches of ice for ice fishing. Panguitch Lake is safe. Just heard that from Sportman's Warehouse.

Panguitch is safe, just don't go out to the middle. I fished there on Sunday and there was about 5 inches of ice. The fishing wasn't hot, but consistent. The fish in there have definitely been fed well in the fall, all really healthy and fat. However, I think that's the reason that the bite is so light. I set my jaw jacker to the lightest possible setting to try and hook them better. I only caught a few but had about 10 bites an hour. All the fish caught were over 17" and most rainbows, with a few skinnier cutts.
