on my way to work today i drove past mantua and seen 3 sets of ice fishers oin the lake can any one confirm the ice thickness or if they was biting

It was me only maybe 2inches not safe yet. I know not smart we only went five feet deep and had a plan to get off if things went bad. Someone did walk in from the south side and went pretty far out but not sure about the ice over there. A few more days and it will be good.

Hey Forest, I got a new inflatable life vest for Christmas, so I'll be wearing mine, but if it's sketchy I'll sit it out another week... I've gained so much poundage the last six weeks I'm a hazard to those around me.... Guess it's time to start the dreaded diet again.... It's almost time to start talking the Catfish contest with the local sponsors and see if we can get some bigger prizes for this year... Not that we need them, but might be nice... Hope you're staying warm and ready for spring cats... Did you see I caught one around Christmas... That's my latest in the season cat ever... It froze over the other day so guess I'm between seasons for sure now... Tore my toon down for the year to store it out of the weather, must be ice season now... Thanks for the concern... J

I wholeheartedly agree. Although we all know how well we all listen right?[]

Be safe think before you go out. Ask yourself this question-- [#ff0000]Is it really worth my life to test out this thin ice or can I wait a week?[/#ff0000]

If you really have to go out please please please be prepaired. Have ice spikes, ropes, etc...

Derek I think I'll be there Thursday if the ice is good. And I'm pretty sure I won't be alone. Don't party much at my age and religion so New Years morning works good for me.
