Vernon Report

My son and I took a trip up to the Vernon reservoir today. Nary a bite. But the ice is 5 inches thick and it was beautiful day. Water level is slowly rising and it's below the big structure which equals just under half full.

Thanks for the report. I used to go out there as a kid. What are the roads like getting to the reservoir?

A beautiful day on the ice is better than a warm day on the couch, glad you got out and enjoyed yourselves. I've had the last 14 days off just praying for ice thick enough to get on and now I have to go back to work. What have I done to deserve this, I just wanted to go fishing. I always like being out on first ice and now I'm going to end up with sloppy secondths, at least things are finally froze up and now I still have something to look forward to.

The road is snow packed but 2 wheel drive all the way up and back from the highway. Until we get more snow (which we desperately need), it is smooth sailing. We plan to keep after it and maybe even catch a few.[]

Amen on the snow. Vernon is a nice place to go. Never ice fished it but sounds like a good time. Thanks for the report.
