Tings have been pretty slow at work tonight so i decided to take a drive up to Pineview. There are a few spots of open water in the narrows, the rest has capped and covered with snow, shouldn't be too long on the narrows at 2330 hours when I was there it was 13 Deg.. Drove into the port ramp, there were at least two tents out near the docks. Don't know about the ice thickness, but it looks like time to hit the hard deck.

I fished north of cemetery and the ice a solid 4". I also walked to the middle of the lake and the there is 5". Don't expect the perch bite to be what it was last year or the year before. But the crappie are out in full force. I ended with 3 perch and 27 crappie.

Do the crappie have any size to them or do you have to weed through quite a few dinks to get some worth keeping?
