Fishlake Report and Mystery Fish??
#1
I couldn't take it any longer and decided it was time to fish at Fishlake.
When we got to Lakeside there was one other car there and they were further South. We went straight out from lakeside and drilled 5-6 holes the entire way out. After about 30 minutes of testing and drilling holes we made it pass the moss line and spent the next 4 hours catching fish after fish. I don't think we spent more than 5 minutes without getting a bite. There were lots of times we had 2 fish on at a time. I ended with close to 45+ fish.
Most were 12 -14" Rainbow and Splake. We were out far enough to avoid the perch.

It was a bit sketchy when cracks were happening under your feet. Ice was 3.5 - 4" thick.

I did catch one fish I wasn't entirely sure what is was. Anybody have an idea?

Yup. There is a fair population of browns in F.L. Most seem to get caught in the spring at ice-off.

Here is a photo thats shows the dramatic difference colors can be on fish. This is a Brownie, like yours, taken out of the American Fork boat harbor at Utah Lake. I have caught a few of these "Utah Lake Brown Trout".
